Introduction an Orphanage Titipan Kasih

Panti Asuhan Titipan Kasih (A Shelter of Love) is one of the many orphanages ini the city of Makassar. It si located at Jl. Andi Mangerangi III No.90 right behind SMK Negeri I Makassar or what is better known as the “Goa Kamp” Complex. We are now looking after 62 children, who hail from different backgrounds. The majority of them come from Tana Toraja. In spite of these differences, we have built a life together that is filled with love and harmony.

Apart from attending school the children have other activities too. In their free time, they learn handicrafts and what ever skills outsiders ofter to teach. The money from the sale of their handwork goes towards the small daily purchases that are needed in the orphanage . with Christmas fast approaching, the Children have been making Christmas tree ornaments, table decoration and cards for sale at church bazaars and other meetings. The children at the orphanage take their daily chores and responsibilities seriously. Twice daily, there is a short prayer together (at 5.00 am and at 9.00 pm). Each child takes his/her turn to lead this worship time. Chores and other duties (cooking, cleaning, looking after the younger children) are also based on roster. Every child from the youngest (4 years) to the eldest (19 years), has to chip in and taught to respect and value each other as brothers and sisters. Although most of them do not have parents anymore ( a few of them do not even know who their parents are ), they hardly ever cry or wallow in self-pity. Their tears have dried in the bitterness of life. They know that the orphanage is the best place for them and they believe that God will always look after them, even at the orphanage. The many needs of the orphanage are often met by the grace of God. He has provided us with caring people and donors who contribute whatever they can to us life in the orphanage has taught us how to be thankful for the little that we have, in whatever situation we find ourselves. Although the children are always lacking something, they are still grateful… they have faith that God will not forsake them. Sometimes, we have virtually nothing at the orphanage, not even a grain of rice. But it is in these times that we see God’s providence for us. At the last moment, something is always provided by an individual or a church group. When this happens, they are always reminded of the goodness of God. As young adults, they look towards a future. The harsh lives of their parents are a mirror for these children… they are determined to make something better of their own lives. They also have ambitions like all other children. With the help of people like yourselves, perhaps these dreams may come true. Blessed is each child on this earth, who can still feel the warmth and love of his parents… Blessed is each child who has everything he needs or even more, no matter where he may be… Blessed is each child who is free to play with the many toys he has… Blessed is each child who will be gathered in the many toys he has... Blessed is each child who will be gathered in the midst of his family at each Christmas time…

The Lord has blessed Joani with a remarkable musical gift. Joani cares deeply about ministering with her music and reaching the lost and hurting with the good news of Jesus. Her desire is to reflect Gods Joy and Love in and through her music and testimonies. Sharing the Joy of Jesus is what Joani's life is all about.Because of You, your smile and laughter and love, brings the very heart of God to everyone that you meet. Love, a sister in Christ, Debi

It is my privilege to recommend Joani Tabor to you. Joani has been a tremendous blessing to the two congregations I have served. She brings a joy and enthusiasm that is extremely contagious coupled with a gentle spirit and brings peace and comfort. Joani's ministry is far more than the music, it is in her ministry through words and example. Joani has also been instrumental in touching the lives of many women here at Southeast Christian Church by sharing at the Women's Ministry Retreat. The women returned excited, recharged, challenged and ready to serve.

Joani will bring an excitement and revival to your church or ministry.

Joani, we just wanted to say thank you for this lovely weekend. We enjoyed so much our time with you. You were a real JOY to us. The church was still excited this p.m. Any time you are back in the area you have a place. If you have a mailing list put us on so we can keep track of your happenings. You can put us on the prayer list you were talking about today, and you and your family will certainly be on ours. Thanks again for allowing us all to have a BLESSED weekend. We love you. Hi, Glenn; Joani just finished visiting our church here in Greenville, South Carolina (Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church). What a blessing she was to us. My husband and I were the lucky ones who got to take Joani out to dinner. I must say, I now have a new best friend. My prayers are with you and Joani and the wonderful ministry you are providing. God has truly blessed Joani with a gift for winning souls. I look forward to seeing her again soon. Love in Christ, Debbie O'Shields

Glenn & Joani, I had the pleasure to go to a banquet that Joani spoke at here in Virginia. It was a true blessing. She is wonderful with her work and it truly comes straight from the heart. It was an honor to be part of it. What wonderful news to hear about souls being saved. My husband and I have been going to church for over a year now and we were both saved together on Christmas eve of last year. The best Christimas gift we could ever receive. It was so special. Then we were baptized (together again). The town we are in is small and our church is a small country church. We were baptized in the old fashioned way in a creek outside. What a true blessing! Again, it is so good to hear about souls being saved. In our church, we are learning about the book of Revelation and we are always praying for people to get saved now before it's too late. I just wanted to share my little story with you here and God bless you both for doing God's work. """God is good.""" Amen to all the brothers and sisters in Christ. Have a nice day. Lisa Via.

Pastor Ciniraj Mohamed, Salem Voice, Baseelia, Devalokam, Kottayam, Kerala-686038, INDIA.

(e-mail: siniraj@vsnl.com) website: http://www.geocities.com/salemvoice

On August 24th one of the believers in Jesus Christ from Muslim background through the Salem Voice, India has been killed. On August 28, three people entered into the residence of Pastor Ciniraj Mohamed and attempted destroying his family. On Septemeber 8th a group of people attacked and tried to kill him while he was travelling along with his two children. God send His angels and saved them. On September 18th another believer of Jesus Christ from Islamic background was killed.

On September 11th WTC and Pentagon were attacked and thousands killed.

On October 1st midnight the Christian village of Tomata in Indonesia was attacked by Jihad forces from their military base camp in Korontowu forest. The forces used bombs, guns and hand made guns. Three bombs exploded at a church. A school, the teachers' houses, the houses of 66 civilians, and 11 motorcycles were destroyed. A man and a woman were injured from gunfire, and another man died when he was shot in the chest and head.

More than 200 christians were killed in Nigeria during the beginning of October

On October 12, a bus from Tentena to Palu was bombed by the Jihad at Maranda village, injuring some of the passengers. On October 14, in a similar incident, a bus with about 30 passengers was travelling from Tentena to Palu when it was attacked by the Jihad as the bus passed through a cocoa plantation. The troops, hidden at the right side of the road, opened fire and threw a bomb at the bus, the bomb missing its target. One person died and eight were injured.

On October 16, a Christian refugee camp at Madale village was attacked. One person died and one was severely wounded. The safety of the refugees is not guaranteed. On October 18, the Jihad engaged in a sweep of Christians. At 3.00 pm they stopped a bus and checked the identity cards of the passengers. Finding a Christian, they shot him in the stomach, causing his death. Stones were thrown at two buses. Poso city was closed for Christians because of the Jihad and its sweeping attacks.

On October 19, the police arrested 15 Jihad troops who came from Ambon. They confiscated two guns and bombs. From 9.00 pm, October 20, till 7.00 the next morning, 100 Jihad troops attacked Betalemba village in Poso city, burning 30 houses. Two army soldiers died in the ensuing battle, but 30 members of the Jihad were killed and 38 were captured. Some of those who were captured had a large body, long beard and couldn't speak Indonesian. The Jihad then threw a bomb into the yard of the police office, demanding the release of their compatriots, but the police moved the 38 prisoners from Poso to Palu.

On October 21, a civilian and a soldier riding a motorcycle were shot and killed.

On the same day, a Chinese Christian man was killed, hacked to death by the Jihad. A bus was also stopped by 50 Jihad troops. They found a Christian woman and her eight-year-old son, who they forcibly took crying from his mother's arms. They then took her son with them into the jungle and there has been no news of the boy since.

On Sunday, October 28, 18 believers were killed in Pakistan while they were worshipping. Pakistani Christian families face a desperate situation in Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, and elsewhere".

On October 28, the Indonesia Christ Congregation, located in Ganjaresik village, West Java, was destroyed. This incident was provoked by the marriage of a Christian man to a Muslim woman. The marriage was not agreed to by the woman's Muslim parents who, with other villagers, then went to Ev. Almandus Achjadi and destroyed his church. Since then, Ev. Achjadi Achjadi and the bridegroom's parents have disappeared, and it is feared that they were kidnapped.

("When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the alter the souls of those who had been killed because they were faithful to the word of God and to the message they had received. These souls shouted in a loud voice, "Holy and true Lord, how long until you judge the people of the earth and punish them for killing us?" (Rev 6:9-10)

This message was received recently and is probably just one example of the persecutions our brother and sisters in Christ are experiencing in the war torn countries.

Dear All People of God:

I am Pastor George Assi from Pakistan. I hope you all might have heard the sad news about Christian people being killed by some muslims while they were worshipping in the Sunday morning at 9 AM. I was the pastor and was leading the service at the same time in this church. Suddenly some people with covered faces appeared and shooted the congregation and 4 children under 12 and 5 women and 9 men were dead at the spot and many are injured badly who know how many more will die there? I want to let all of you know that I am also having threats from the Muslims people here in my area. Please pray for the safety of our people, especially my family and myself are in great danger right now. We need your prayers. Please pray for me since myself do not know whether how long I do live here because soon or later we will also have these attacks on our people and our church. And may be we will have to flee but we have no place to flee anywhere. This is really hard time for us here in Pakistan now. May the Lord bless you all. Yours in His love

Brother George Assi.

Dear Joani, Recently you performed at the Hillside Ave. Church of God in Springfield, Ohio. You were awesome. My music minister gave you a CD that my wife and I made. I hope you enjoyed it, and I was wondering if you had any insight into who would be interested in a new Christian Singer. Where could I send a demo? Steven Curtis Chapman has one but I haven't heard from him. His father-in-law and Mother-in-law go to our church. If you could help I would appreciate it. Again, you were wonderful and we were blessed to hear you. My son who is is 14 and has ADHD was an angel for like five days after he saw you perform. It was lovely. Ha Ha. God bless your ministry Robert M. Chiles By His grace

Dear Elders in Christ, I greet you in the wonderful name of Christ Jesus, First of all I praise God for this wonderful opportunity to share my ministry activities with you, We know these are the last days and Satan is doing his level best to crush down the children of God to destroy the kingdom of God. In the same time God's children are proceeding forward with a determination to collapse the walls of the enemy I sincerely acknowledge our selves as one among them. We are striving every our nerve to spread the kingdom of God in India. This is the reason why God save me from sin, curse and eternal condemnation. We have a team of pastors and evangelists, Bible women doing Lord's work. We reach rural, tribal and coastal areas. In a month we visit number of villages. We arrange street meetings, seminars and convention. Church planting is the main activity of our Gospel work, and relief and development work. Many of our pastors do not have any houses and also they have no constructed churches. They conduct the prayers in thatched houses, under trees and some times on way sides. But we are stead fast to see that the Lord's work is done. We have not connected with any organization and we have no support from anywhere outside. We have a GRACE library. We collect books from different people and display them in our library. In a day many people visit our library and enjoy reading the books. We have a nice library staff who is working voluntarily to assist me in the library work. We need a great deal of Christian literature such as Bibles, tracts and magazines and spiritual books. We carry these literature to unrecalled areas and distribute to people for free of cost our library staff members are all married and they have to look after their families. But they have no help from anywhere. We are looking forward for a mighty helping hand like yours to support our pastors and library workers. We have an orphanage in which we are looking after 28 children when we found them they were shelter less and away from comfort and parental love. We collect donations from our fellow Christians to meet their needs. We need some generous sponsors to take up the care of at least one of them each. In fact their condition is very pathetic. Please remember them in your regular prayers. Other than this we have social welfare and relief and development activities such as leprosy eradication food for hungry etc., As I share all these things please take a step to visit India once and see our ministry to support us and encourage us. I know we can not do the ministry single handed your cooperation and encouragement will enable us to do a lot of ministry. If God reveals you some things about my ministry could you please share it with me. I may be knocking at your door at an odd time. But I have the promise knock it shall be opened. If you could kindly hear my knock at your door, please make convenience be opened. Your kind generous door for me. I wholeheartedly invite you to India. Please see my ministry; if you feel I deserve your encouragement please take a kind step to lift me up. Because I have been in a desperate condition. I earnestly need your kind interference into my ministry. I wish to have your leadership, and guidance. I will sincerely and honestly follow your instructions to develop my ministry in India. We will have a banker that you suggest me. If you wish I am here ready to send you all the pictures of my ministry. It is just to impress you to have opinion to visit me. If you could visit-once, I hope in the Lord there will be a lot of improvement in our ministry. We will be able to operate new activities to attract people towards Jesus and make them commit their lives to Jesus. Please pray for us as we for you. I await your kind and favorable response. THANKING YOU IN JESUS, Yours ever in His eternal bonds,

Hi, Joani, Just wanted to tell you what a super concert you put on at Hillside Church of God here in Springfield, Ohio on Sunday. I really enjoyed hearing you sing those great gospel songs. I'm a Christian, but I never really thought that much about it, until I listened to you sing at that concert. Something hit me like a shockwave, and I know now that it was the Lord talking to me through those songs. I was doing what I wanted to do, not what the Lord wanted me to do. Through those songs, you have made me see that what I was doing was wrong. From now on, I am going to be a different person. Thank you. Debi Kennedy

You sang in our church this morning,( the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene ), and you realy helped my wife . We have had a tough time of it over the past year and she has lost a lot of the faith she once experienced. She and I both felt that God just did not care anymore. We made some bad judgement calls of our house and allmost lost everything. I have been healing and growing but my wife took everything much more deeply than I did.

You'r testimony helped her gain some of the trust she lost. Thank you and God Bless you.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am pastoring a small church in India. I am extensively involved in Youth ministry also. And also we greatly emphasis the ministry of Praise and Worship.

We believe that using the gospel music is really a powerful tool in winning and bringing the souls into the kingdom of God.

In view of these things we would like to purchase all your music CDs. But as we are financially not sound we are not able to purchase your album CDs.

So we kindly request you to provide us with a complete set of all your music album CDs. We beg you. Please consider this favourably. We are in need and of extremely interested in receiving your CDs. Please send the CDs to the following address: Rev. K. Titus Ananda Kumar 112/98-A Pandian St. Bhavani Rd. Perundurai-638052 Tamilnadu India

Instead of tapes we prefer CDs so that we can use it for longlife. For this act of kindness we will be faithful to you for our lifetime.

Please forgive my earlier comments about the lack of your music being on your web site when I signed-in before. Enjoyed hearing your latest recordings via this site. Still looking forward to seeing you, if not sooner, on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Ridgeway, Virginia for the Ladies Banquet. Joani Really enjoyed hearing and seeing you again at Christview Christian Church in Tulsa. When we talked you told me you had a soundtrack of your new cd with you but I was unsure of the songs, so I didn't buy it. Connie heard the cd and wants to do a special music duet at the church in Dec. we are going to sing Calvary Came Through. Guess I better get out of here and order your soundtrack. Tom Malocsay

Joani, I saw you at Calvary Baptist Church in Boise, ID. My son was the 11yr old at your music table after the concert who would not leave there without a CD in his hand! Our children are growing up in a world with so much trash for "music", and it is a blessing to have my son want only positive Christian music. Thank you for your contribution to his musical interest. Your message that night brought me to tears, and I thank you for being so bold as to proclaim God's truth, when at times even the church doesn't want to hear such boldness. It was refreshing! We hope to see you back in the Northwest again - but maybe less than 2yrs from now. God bless you!

In Christ, Karen Cutler

Thanks so much for praying for us in Houston concerning the flood. John & I were very fortunate. I woke up at 3:30 in he morning and looked out the window and saw that the water was halfway up our lawn and still moving towards the house. I woke John up, and we just started praying and taking authority over the wind and the water as Jesus did when he commanded the water to be still. We believe that God gave us authority over the earth in Gen. 26-27. Adam gave that authority to satan, but Jesus gave it back to us when he died on the cross, and when we accept him as our Savior. Then John put praise music on, starting with Joani's newest CD. We started praising God and still commanding the water to recede. It got within 2-3 feet of our front door, and then started to move back. The rain started to lighten up. Some may say it's a coincidence but I believe God heard our prayers and answered them. We really were spared. The amazing thing is everyone we know personally came close to being flooded but was spared. And we got some comic relif when one of our neighbors drove down the street in his BOAT.

What has also been amazing is how the church of Houston has stepped forth to help, and the media has taken notice in a big way. Lakewood church, which seats 10,000 people, became an unofficial shelter. 3000 people went there, and the people that were in that part of town that could reach the church brought food, clohes, and towels so that they could shower. They said the clothes were piled up 20 feet high. A Baptist church brought 300 towels, then picked them up after they were used, washed them and brought them back. They interviewed a Red Cross worker at Lakewood who said they had enough volunteers to take care of the 3000 people, and only two of the workers were from the Red Cross. Eventually they had to move the people to a shelter (the church did not have adequate shower or restroom facilities), but not before the media took notice.

Please ask the prayer partners to keep praying for the homeless people. They have lost everything (latest estimates are at around 17,000). I have never seen anything like this, but the good news is that the church is really stepping into the gap and responding.

Dear Joani, I had a dream about you last night, somehow I think it was from the Lord. I don't know who I was working for, but there was an award program, and I was to present you with an award, when I was giving the award, (a piece of cloth with your photo and name etched, barely visible). I was appalled at the quality of such a meager award and was trying desperately to find something better to give you. The next thing I remember, you came out onto the stage for a rehearsal. I was standing back stage so I could see you and you walked past me. I thought you didn't recognize me and was so hurt, when suddenly you looked back, and realized it was me and ran back and said, "I always knew I would see you again." We embraced and cried from the depths of our souls. Joani, love is the most important thing in the world, and you will never know how much I have always loved you. It is so important to say I love you to those we know and love. Things left unsaid are feelings not shared that can mean so very much. I hope you and Glenn are doing well. Harold & I are OK. Harold has been feeling bad for about a month now and has an appointment with the doctor today. I have been suffering with fibromylgia for a few years now, but the doctor finally found a medication that really helps. Joani, I just want to say, I love you and Glenn. You have always been in my heart, and are very dear to me. I would love to hear from you. Standing in His Light, Wendy Duvall

Joani is a blessing and was a pleasure to have at our church. She made a major impression on my 15 yr old son as well and that is a blessing in itself. He loves her tapes and CD's as do I. She is sincere and real and the Lord shows right through her and that is what means more to me than anything. We look forward to having her at our next women's retreat (Living Springs Assembly of God - Glendale, AZ). If you know it or not Lucy was praying for a speaker and you answered our prayers. She was thrilled that it was you because you made a huge impression on the lady's at the church. Thank you and may God bless you in all things that you do and where you are. God bless. We really enjoyed the service Sunday morning at the Brookhill Wesleyan Church. Joani, we are the ones who knew where Bramwell, West Virginia is. I graduated from Gary High School -- McDowell County.

I am sure your daughter will not have any problems finding a job in her teaching field. Many people are retiring in public education and there are many openings. My husband works for Bedford County Schools.

I train a lot of the teachers in the surrounding counties using Microsoft Office applications.

Our son-in-law is the youth pastor at Brookhill. He and my daughter are relocating to High Point, NC to a church in Trinity. Margie Jones JonesM@cv.cc.va.us

Connie went forward with a special request last time you were here, and with all the prayers that were offered, our prayers were fulfilled. I talked to you about using some of your songs for a special and in Oct. Connie and I sang "HIS TOUCH". Connie had never sung since in school but we both felt the Lords leading to use this song.

Well at least with you coming back here to sing, you can do some DAMAGE CONTROL over our using your song!!!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you. In Christian love, Tom Malocsay

Dear Joani, Feb. 23,'01

We had our afternoon running around Clovis(NM). And that was good. Our talks of Kingdom living and what pleases and displeases the heart of our Father, and the concerns for THE BODY OF CHRIST were the best part of the our afternoon.

THEN tonight at the banquet you sang and "knocked our socks off" with staight-talk, anointed preaching. You go girl !!! I love it. I love it. Those words are definitely God's Word for this "hour" in Christendom. Keep on singin' and bringing forth the rhema Word of the Lord.

I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the "Prayer of Jabez" a few weeks ago. I bought the book through Amazon and read it. I gave it to my Pastor who also thought it was great and he ordered about 30 books and as soon as they come in I am going to do a "book report" on it and challenge our people to read it. It's just what our Pastor had been teaching on for the past several months...God is so Awesome! God bless you and your servants heart! Have a beautiful day in the Lord.

I have been a pastor for over 35 years. One of the things I always guard against is having people in the pulpit who do not challenge or touch my people. Joani Tabor set my church on their knees. Her sweet countenance was perfectly balanced with honest, from the heart "touch love". She told it like it is -- from the heart of a pastor's wife, who has struggled with real problems and found victory in Jesus Christ. Her voice and presentation are a wonderful blend of joy and excitement that touches everyone present. To other pastors: Joani will touch your people, bless your heart and present herself in a way that every pastor appreciates. Have her come to your church...the quicker, the better. Charles R. Please pass on to Joani that Spring Branch Christian Church was totaly blown away by Joani's witness, testimony and songs. Praise the Lord. They want to know WHEN she come back to Spring Branch. So this is a request to give me the next available dates for Joani. It seems from my modest count (not a preacher count)that there were 31 decisions for Christ. At the elders meeting on Sunday PM, everyone...I mean ALL the elders were sky high over Joani's message, songs and witness. Praise the Lord. So WHEN CAN SHE RETURN TO SPRING BRANCH CHRISTIAN CHURCH? Dear Joani, It was wonderful seeing you at Spring Branch Christian Church today. I was truly blessed by your sharing of the Word. I need to vow to be more protective of my joy. I do truly know that "my help comes from the Lord!" God bless you and your ministry. Charlotte Farkas Houston, TX
